We are an independent, second generation, family owned business. Sue Stedman set up her business in 1989, based on design flair and strong ethical values. On her retirement in 2011, Teresa, her daughter-in-law continued these business values.
What we Do
We are experts in the co-ordination, supply and delivery of corporate clothing and workwear. We specialise in business dress collections, offering a combination of ready-to-wear styles and bespoke production. We team this with practical workwear to provide the total solution.
We know what it means to take a uniform concept from the drawing board to the finished garment, and our relatively low minimum quantities make a personalised solution an option for many organisations.
We have formed long-term relationships with quality garment manufacturing facilities in Europe. Our clients like that we provide a bespoke design service, that we can weave custom-made fabrics and can customise ready-to-wear solutions to give the team a uniform that is stylish and professional, yet is easy care and offers excellent performance and durability.
The business has grown and evolved over the years to incorporate the latest Online Ordering systems and smart warehousing technologies.
Our strong financial position ensures we are able to trade on our own finances, independent of outside finance.
We are also a business that is founded with good ethics and working practices: we are members of the Federation of Small Businesses and our Managing Director, Teresa Stedman, was recognised for her role when shortlisted and announced as Runner Up for the Business Person of the Year in 2015.
Where we're based
Our Head Office is in Surrey where all design, administration, sales and customer services are carried out. We have an experienced team covering all aspects of design, sales, procurement, manufacture, client liaison and data management.
Who we work with
At Stedman Corporate Cloting we are delighted to be working with many blue chip businesses of various sizes within the UK. We work with a broad spectrum of businesses from large corporations with 1000 wearers to smaller independent companies of 10 wearers; and across multiple industries.
Charity starts in the Office!
We work closely with a number of charities and this is something we feel very strongly about. Over the years we have supported the Nyumbani Orphanage in Kenya, Hope & Aid Direct, and Farm4Life in Ghana. We have personally visited Nyumbani and have shipped donations of surplus fabrics and unused or former uniform stock to benefit communities in need.
We are very proud to support such charities wherever we possibly can and will continue to do so.
Meet the team
The service is built on excellence and 'going that extra mile'. We pride ourselves in delivering a highly personalised service, and our number of long term customers is testament to that. We are also extremely proud of our high staff retention rates, which helps us deliver the consistent quality service that clients have come to expect.
Managing Director and joint owner of the company has over 17 years experience within the corporate clothing industry. Prior to joining the company, Teresa held a number of management roles in the fashion retail head offices of BHS, Principles and House of Fraser. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Manchester University in Textiles, Economics and Management and has developed extensive knowledge of fabric production, manufacturing and pattern construction.
Katie Hardy - National Sales Manager
Katie joined the team in 2011 having worked in the corporate tailoring industry for the previous fifteen years. This included founding Kudos Clothing, a specialist in bespoke and made to measure tailoring. Katie joined the team to direct the business development into existing market sectors as well as to diversify into new industries.
Simon Stedman - IT Director
Simon has worked in the information technology field for over thirty years formerly in the banking industry working for JP Morgan, Softbridge, Citibank and Chase Manhattan. Simon’s extensive technical knowledge includes web design, client web ordering, IT infrastructure and automation processes.
Many of the team members have been with Stedman Corporate Clothing for more than 10 years. Their previous experience includes working with brands such as Thomas Pink, Holiday Inn and Bupa. They are passionate about customer service and delivering a highly personalised service.
